Will post cure RT epoxy increase its tg? or will it reach its highest tg with just room temperature cure?
If post cure RT epoxy bring out higher tg then how is the post cure schedule since RT epoxy manufacture don’t really tell you anything about post cure.
With RT I wouldnt expect reasonable properties for epoxies - rt cured epoxies is a myth - build up to increase sales within improfessionals
All epoxies will benefit from a heat treatment. Some will just never get to a very high Tg though. West Systems, MAS, Resin Research will not get above 140*F regardless of how hot you get them.
Each epoxy will be different in terms of Tg, cure, and post-curing. Contact the manufacture to find out what exactly you can do, and what you will get. Even sometimes with a post-cure is recommended, they can tell you to do various things (2hr at 140f unsupported, or 5hr at 200 supported, etc etc)
Let say I cure bonnet part at RT 7days and get Tg 50 degree celsius.
Later, if my bonnet get heat about 55 degree celsius, what gonna be happen ? how bad is it?
My bonnet gonna be breakdown ?
The elevate heat will progress the cure of the resin. The resin will shrink more as the cure progresses. Since the laminate is not supported you will get print-through of the fabric in the surface of your part.
BTW, your hood will probably get up to 80*F on a hot day in the sun.
