Polyurethane then gel goat

I have been laying gel coat with black dye then CF.After that I do polyurethane to soak in good and then gel coat to build up layers.Is this common practice ? Will it work.Also I do mostly ABS plastics .Does any one have any input ??

I´m not sure if will it work or not, but I can assure it´s not common.

Maybe if you explain your piece a bit deeper, someone will try to help …

Well any part . I have done a bit of experimenting.The poly is then and soaks in better but dose not build up as much as the thicker gel coat .But I was seeing if any one else has done this .If so what was the pro’s and con’s?
