Poly Resin Shelf Life

I have the chance to buy some resin from a company that went out of business around a year ago. This is what he has

35 Gallons General Purpose Roly Resin in a 55 gallon Drum
5 Gallons Pail of General Purpose Poly Resin
5 Gallons Pail of Red Tooling Gel Coat
5 Gallons Pail of Clear Marine UV Gel Coat

They were all Purchased December of 2003 and manufactures date is October of 2003

Do you think these would still be good. They were all purchased from composites one out of Salt Lake City Utah and kept in a cold garage all winter. I can get all this for $150

i have just used up some old poly resin from about 18 months ago. it was made nearly 2 years ago. the colours are a bit odd but the resin worked just like a new tin would.

thats good then  he is tring to find the manufacture of it and I am going to call them. for such a cheap price is I get to use 10 gallons of it I will be happy

I just found a 5 gallon pail in the basement, i bought it about 5 years ago, I got a deal on it because it was a year old then, I just popped it open and used some to do a repair. It worked fine, it was a deep blue green color and kind of thick but worked fine. hardner is a different story though, I have found that as MEKP ages it breaks down and doesn’t work as good.

some lasts longer than others, but generally it’s about a year to 18 months. Longer shelf life can be acheived by storing it in a cool dark place. Moisture free if you can help it.

well I bought it all and used the gel coat and the resin and it worked fine, the red tooling gel was a little thick at the bottom.
