permanent adhesive recommendations

im working on overlaying carbon fiber on a set of door handles for my car and im using a spare set of handles, i plan on separating the carbon off those handles and installing the carbon on the existing handles on the car.what would be a good alternative to attach the overlay to the handles other then epoxy

Double sided tape, go to your local auto parts or auto body supply. It’s good enough for the OEM so it’s good enough for you.

i have some 3m trim adhesive but its too thick. im looking for a seemless fit

3m makes film adhesive that’s ranges from 3 mil to about 8 mils thick. How permanent it is I’m not sure but you might want to look into that.

can you scuff your good door handles prior to gluing the overlays on? That would create a good bond if you used a gel type adhesive like a two component epoxy mix. But that will require scuffed up door handles.

Otherwise maybe try a butyl silicone?

thanks guys i will look into both products. now im having a bit of trouble wrapping the handles. im new at this and still learning
