A month ago i bought two new silver colored Sharpie felt pens for drawing lines on carbon fiber cloth. Well now both pens seem to have dried up from the carbon cloth and i haven’t really used them all that much.
Any ideas for something better, longer lasting that draws a visible line on c/f? I hate to keep spending $5 every week or two for new Sharpies.
You might try using a white China marker from a craft / art store?
Did you notice that on the side of the silver pens it says to store it downwards to stop it drying up?
Use a silver prisma-color pencil. Works good and has a fine line.
This is commonly used on prepreg carbon materials in the areospace industry. Red or blue pencils are used on fiberglass and aramid materials.
On the lighter colored materails a sharpie can be used also.

yep i was storing them with cap pointing up.
I’ll also try the other ideas as they seem good and it’s nice to have different writting methods for different situations/fabrics.
