is there a way to eliminate the satin finish of the peel ply… haven’t bagged anything yet but still really curious…
could you lightly sand then clear it without damaging the weave?

there are non-perforated peel plies. However you’re going to have a much higher resin content.
Some people will lay down another coat of resin on top of the rough, dry surface, and then sand/polish or sand/clearcoat/polish.
Yes you can use perforated plastic film , that will however leave more wrinkles than peel ply
but the real question is can i wet sand with 1500 after using peelply and then clear it … or is sanding unecessary and i can just clear it
The purpose of peelply is to provide a suface suitable for secondary bonding. If you clean it properly the clear coat will stick to it no problem. I personally have no experience spraying clear over a bare peelplyied surface. So I cant vouch for what finish you will see.
