The links are not working for me. Some of the most impressive factories i have seen are Buggati Veyron and Mclarren SLR. But I didn’t really see the tooling areas of their factories, just final assembly.

The part 2 has a lot of pics of them making composites parts and some of their molds

haha! I was gonna say that titanium wire thread is going to be pointy like a bee stinger with similar effect on hands… then i scroll down a bit and read how the guy poked himself with it LMAO:D OUCH!

“Mind you, I was doing my best not to come across like an over-enthusiastic school boy… It was pretty hard to contain myself when looking at the Zonda R though. Just look at this thing!” … DITTO!

I would love to try some of that cf/ti weave!! not joking I think it would be awesome stuff. I have worked with very fine aluminum and titanium wire ( www.ray-check.com making radiographic wire penetramers)… A do it D.I.Y’r could make this themselves but you would need prepreg, a 60" width jig with small posts spaced evenly to run the wire across the prepreg to each post. The wire can be .003, .005, .010 or any size you can work with and feel is good for your needs. Man I have the wire suppliers name on the tip of my tongue and can’t spit it out. I will remember. Then you take a plastic roller on handle and roll the wire flat to the prepreg. The wire is very conforming so the tackiness of the prepreg should make the wire stay in place. Then sandwhich another layer of prepreg on top of that layer of wire. Use a wire cutter to cut the wire free from the jig posts. Done… make your laminate. SupaStrong Fastrr laminate ha. If weight is not as much of an issue this wire can be purchased in Hastelloy and Inconell alloys also.
I found the vendor for the fine wire…http://www.calfinewire.com/productsoverview.asp?kc=kuL4WXXDagkrMHdbvZjObGbxLMstbwfshUBfVacU&tsid=googleppc&gclid=CNLvj9z4y5sCFSIuagodvjz9Kg
