Oxeon Textreme

I am in need of a small quantity (4 sq mtrs) of textreme fabric, it is a spread tow fabric.

It is a woven UD tape that is approx 20mm tape width that is woven into a cloth.

I have been onto the manufactures of this and they have been very helpful with information, however they will only supply a complete roll and not smaller quantities, this is only a small job and I can not justify the purchase of a complete roll for this job, just to keep it in stock.

Does anyone have some or know a supplier that I might be able to get a small quantity of this.

If you were wondering, it is now commonly used in Formula one on ‘non’ structural parts such as floors, sidepods and engine covers ands some teams are even using it for rear wing end plates.

Here is a link to there website. http://www.oxeon.se/

Looks like they have some for sale on this side of the pond.

for those of you that do not know what this looks like.

If you have trouble sourcing the material, send me a message, and I will buy a roll. I am sure I can get rid of the rest of the roll with a couple of my customers.

whats the application of this fabric?

Many structural things. As opposed to fabrics, this stuff is T700 carbon (fabrics are T300 usually). Multiaxials are T700 as well, by the way.

And it looks good…

Its for a floor splitter section on a race car that i needed to quote on for a customer. Ill know in a week or so if i get the job or not.

For spread tow fabrics at any quantity go to

Their service is remarkable

While I agree that Fibermax is a top supplier for the hobby projects, I fail to see where you see Textreme available from them.

Which product number are you referring to?

According to my information, what they have is regular 15K weave, which is a far cry from the Textreme fabric AFAIK.

Am I mistaken here?

A complete roll being 100 linear meters? Did they give you a price for a roll?

Hello mate,

Give easy composites a call http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/ - Im sure I have seen this the other week when I was there. They are based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

EDIT: Check the bottom of this page http://www.easycomposites.co.uk/Category/Fabric-and-Reinforcement/Carbon-Fibre-Cloth-Fabric.aspx

I have tried both and I found a big difference. The Textreme looks deceiving on a picture but is actually full of small holes at every point where the tows meet each other (looks rather uneven). In order to see them go to: http://www.fibermaxcomposites.com/shop/-p-816.html and http://www.fibermaxcomposites.com/shop/-p-1011.html, but the real difference is in reality. Though, the lightest they have is 160 gr/m2 (for heavier applications.)

I have tried both and found that the fabric from Fibermax was more even (less holes at the point where the tows meet each other).

Tow quality was the same.
