Overlays, lamination

I hate doing overlays and use an ancient technique of this.

  • sanding prepping part
  • put tack coat on
  • lay carbon
  • saturate carbon
  • and repeat saturate carbon until even
  • sand and clear

I get pin holes sometimes even with using a heat gun and random other issues since there are a ton of variables. Mainly lifting depending on the shape…

Is there an easier way? Someone was telling me about some type of self leveling resin. The tg needs to be car interior temp also…

I just know there’s a better way of doing this then what i’m Doing since a lot of Chinese companies do this.

If you don’t want to post your trade secrets but respect and want to answer my question please pm me. I’ve tried resins that uv cure to speed things up, also thin and thicker ones depending on the area and other things. I’ve also tried a method of using a trash bag and box with holes and a vacuum to act as a type of form to hold the carbon in place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
