overlays are hard work :(

im having to do some overlays for a friend in exchange for some die cut stickers for my other parts.i forgot what a total pain in the arse they are to do :frowning:

will hopefully look like this when ive done, these were my first attempt a few years ago so hopefully i can improve n them this time…

When I get the time , I want to test the idea of using skin packaging for holding overlays in place of vacumm bagging them.

Skin packaging?

Please Please do explain, I’m curious!!

It is an idea I have been playing with in my mind (along with too much other stuff) and wanting to try out (but got other school problems right now…) to do a over lay and then vacuum skin package with my thickest Surlyn fim to hold it into place while curing, but…we will see!

I’ve seen some simple pieces done like that. They used some sort of high-strech bagging, and that was is. never saw how it turned out or any info besides that.
