overlay on plastic interior pieces...PLEASE HELP.

im trying to overlay a glovebox, its plastic. I usually mold replacement parts for the interior, but due to the mounting points, i decided on overlay for this project. I overlaid it, but its not sticking, peeling right off. Was wondering what the best way to go about doing this would be. Was thinking of wrapping in mold cloth or fiberglass cloth first, stapling around back, wetting out and overlaying that. Or, maybe drilling some small holes all over the glove box to get the resin to “lock” in .Then overlay. Am i on the right track? Or is there a better way to go about doing this. ANY help would be appeciated. BTW, im using uscomposites surfboard resin, Im allergic to epoxyso i cant use that, so if there is another resin that would work better, let me know. Thanks

I drill holes and that seems to help

77 spray and dry lay the cloth. then layup with ve resin. I would try the ve first since it is a modified epoxy, in case you are allergic to the ve also.
That is how we do it. i stay away from the edges until the main are has tacked up a bit (go work on something else)
then come back and tape the edges under and continue to e edges.
drilling holes also for a mechanical bond

Holes…when I was doing my door build outs I didnt want the speaker ‘pod’ to look like it was just ‘stuck on’ … so dirlled tha bejesus outa it then layed down a thick layer of resin, then some cloth to the hole door… looks like rivets coming thru on the backside…

Then I had a base to work with

Dont know how it will look inside the glovebox when you open it but…
