im trying to make some cosmetic parts for my car. and im using wet lay-up method since im bearly starting. now when the part its done. i lay it out under the sun to test if the resin would hold up and within 5 mins of been out there the parts goes soft. ive tried www.fiberglasssupply.com’s Clear Coat and SB112 UV Clear Epoxies and no luck. any suggestions??

Wow, that’s strange. What was your mixing ratio? System Three’s product info sheet shows that it fully cures in 7 days. But even so it should be cured enough for handling after 24 hours.

just like you told me and just like it says on the bottles… 2:1 ratio
i mix the resin on a lil container, wait about 30-40 mins after its a lil more thicker. i brush resin on to the mold. let it sit for another 5 mins. then lay the FG mat. i brush more resin. then lay the CF cloth. and i brush more resin. i wait about 2-3 hours and apply another coat of resin. and i this 2-3 more times
anyone?? im thinkin on aplying a lil heat with a heat lamp as the part is curing… :?
Next time, bring in one of the pieces that you made and let me see what it looks like. I can’t think of any reason why you’re having this problem.
