oil coming off my compressor hose

two days ago i forgot to switch off my compressor and in the morning i found that it has been running overnight and noticed lots of oil coming off the hose, any idea what could be causing this and what kind of damage great could it have suffered :(. has anyone come across this?

i was thinking of replacing the hose so that i can shoot some clear but i also noticed that oil was coming off the draining plug :frowning:

thanks.

If its a piston type you have blown the rings:sad2:, compressor does not do well running non stop, gets hot and rings go soft if you lucky as this may actually save the bore, been there done that, got the T shirt.
If you replace rings hone bore beforehand or use water paper with paraffin / light oil and sand bore gently with 220 then 360 using a roundish piece of polystyrene foam as a block…

to clean inside of hose, pour engine cleaner down it and move hose around while it runs through, leave a while, pour water in and do the same, run air through and = clean hose.
