Hi, I have just realised that I infused some Carbon with 350gm of epoxy resin but I only put in enough hardener for 250gm. Will it ever set?

If you don’t mix epoxy correctly it will most likely drastically alter the properties of the cured part. I guess it depends on the type of epoxy you used, there’s probably only one way to know if it will cure properly…
Can you put it out in the sun or go over it lightly with a heat gun? That may as least speed up the cure a little bit?
Yes, it will set, and very probably it will cure enough to get it out of the mould easily. It might even be hard enough to handle.
However, heat or force can have a devastating effect on the part. It either belongs in the bin, or nailed to the wall, above your mixing area, as a reminder to carefully measure and mix.
And do not worry, i have seen a complete 64ft carbon boat go this way.

Now nailed to the wall above the mixing area?
Hahahaha… oops! I bet somebody was in trouble!
They did not have nails lage enough. And yes, some people were in trouble.
Hi,
Thank you all for your input. I found this morning that the small amount left in the mixing pot has set. I am gently warming the part to see how it goes. The last one of these I made took a long time to set, about 48 hours. It is a slow set hardener so I will see how it goes.
Brian.
