non-autoclave pre-preg source?

anyone have a source for non-autoclave pre-preg?

I can get a pretty good contract if I can source out the material. It will be used in automotive parts that are still mostly cosmetic but the client wants them to made with pre-preg material.

why you having a hard time finding prepeg? what quanities you need? carbon or glass?

well i need like 20-40 yards. I have used some preg with a clave in the past but I don’t have access to one anymore and was wondering where I can get it. I need carbon, preferablly twill but will take plain if that is the only option

we get our Plain and 2x2 Twill from Newport ( www.newportad.com ), and Bryte Tech ( www.brytetech.com )
I think Norther Fiberglass ( www.nfgsales.com ) is also someone we deal with, but only as a distributer.
As for pricing, well, I have no idea. Lead times might play an issue. Our carbon from newport takes almost a month to get here.

if you don’t see what fabric you want, just email them…most people are concerned with the resin, and THEN ask for the weave.

good luck!

ps: vac bag and oven, vs. autoclave…only difference is in how it’s cooked, not the pre-preg.

Try The Advanced Composite Group, Tulsa, OK. They have many products
for bag only curing. The VTM line is an excellent choice. If they are taking
new customers, that is many prepreggers stopped taking new accounts for carbon preg
because of the shortage. They wanted to be able to service long time customers
first.

awesome guys! I will give them all a contact and see what I can come up with. I dont need rolls and rolls of it and that is probally going to be my biggest down fall. we will see what happens

I’ve bought as little as 5 yards from ACG. They don’t have minimums but the
more you buy the better the price. BTW their led times right now are running at
2 to 3 weeks.

Cheers,
Jim

i can deal with the lead time. contract wont start till august so that is plenty of time for me to get the fabric in!

thanks again guys!
