Newbie with questions

Hi everyone, I am new to this board and to the industry. Anyway I have a question and hope that someone here can help.

I am constructing my first plug and have done some spot filling with Duraglass body filler. I sprayed the plug with Duratec primer last night and noticed that I have a few pin holes that the primer didn’t fill. Can I lightly sand these area’s and fill them with body filler, then respray with the Duratec or should I completly sand through the primer before filling, then respray it?

An help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Clean with acetone, apply anything from modeling clay to spot body glazing or body filler. Then finish sand and polish, wax, wax, wax, wax…and you are on your way to making a plug.

I just fill pinholes or small blems by catalyzing a small amount of duratec in a cup and then dabbing it in with a brush. Duratec is as good a spot filler as anything for blems up to maybe 0.050". Let it cure and just bend it in when you sand to prep for polishing.

I would also try to figure out why you’re getting pinholes to begin with though.

Thanks for the info. I think that I have it sorted out.
