I am self taught fabricator I’ve had some issues that I would like some opinions. I been getting wrinkles in my gelcoat not sure why. I tried to post this in general but wasn’t allowed so post it here. thanks

Typically I’ve had that happen from a few things.
-to thin of a layer and reacts to the next layer
-not cured fully before adding the second layer
-maybe to thick or uneven layer of gel coat
I’ve pretty much eliminated my gel coat issues with just under catalyzing slightly and letting it cure for a good 8 hours or more.
Looks like you’ve got two issues going on. The alligatoring caused by one of the reasons infused posted, probably insufficient time between gel coat application and the lamination. The styrene in the resin will attack the gel coat. As for the crusty fiberglass on the top you have me beat,
I been finding that in these area where it seems to happen a lot the resin does not cure completely. It seems still very tacky. Could it also be the hardener not mixed in completely or to much hardner…
