Sikkens brand waterborne automotive quality clear coat.

I’m thinking of trying this stuff once I get back to composites work. It should have much less odor than standard 2K urethane clears. The only thing I am not sure of is if the catalyst contains any isocyanites. Isocyanites are lethal if not used in an approved paint booth. Also isocyanites will clog up an organic cartridge respirator very quickly. Most bodyshops that paint with isocyanite clear coats will have a self contained air breathing set up for the painter. Those are expensive.

So the nice thing with waterborne paints and clears is you can use a normal organic cartridge respirator, and no harmful isocyanites in the air everyone breaths.
