a cf filament wound shop - air compressor tank. would never rust out.
another idea for people here…
make desktop computer cord holder/tube. keeps all the wires held in a closed tube so nobody can trip on computer cords.
Believe it or not that is the #1 office accident…tripping on computer equipment and cords.
Don’t say i never contribute haha
i trip in the office cause i keep staring at the secretary’s ***s.
I stare at some interns…damn interns.
try ducttape, or those carpet cord holders…
as for the air tank, yup, nothing new there…just 30x more expensive…who will want to buy a 3000$ 5gallon air compressor?
I’m sure you can retro what yuo have if you want to pay for the tank…CF or FG. Make sure it has a FG or Kevlar outer layer incase someone drops something on it
hmm but if someone builds a tank like that, it could build insane pressure ,thus taking up minimal space in the workplace… you could have 300 litres capacity in the size of an airbrush compressor.but i dont think any pump could pressurize that
from airhog.com
“Carbon fiber tanks can be filled to 4500 psi”
Paintball shops can usually fill a carbon fiber tank since paintball itself uses 4500-psi tanks. In most cases, scuba shops can fill the tanks to 3500-3800 psi - only about 10% of them are able to fill the tanks up to 4500 psi.
(and apparently tanks get hot when filling…never knew, but makes sense, since they cool when empty)
I think most air compressor tanks are going to be over build for safety. THe pumps I’m sure can go to 200psi if accidentally left on, and all the safety systems failed. But yeah, more air, less space. Would be a good idea.
As for just replacing one that rusts often (humid locations, and people who don’t empty them every day like they should (or have autovalves, it would be very beneficial for a FG tank!
Or just get a bloody steel tank with a plastic liner…shocked they dont have that automatically in ALL air tanks!
All areas of even Arizona will get rust in the steel tank even if you drain it once a day.
So what kind of regulator set up would one need to run an air compressor hose off of a scuba tank? How much does it cost to fill a scuba tank?
Scuba-dooby-doo! haha. I would want to use it for airbrushing and possibly painting a small part or two now and then.
dunno Fast…they use the regulator to make the pressure almost atmospheric…so i’m sure they wouldnt be hard to come by.
Gotta look at how much they hold though…a big tank may or may not hold enough air to use a grinder for an hour.
Good reserach topic though. Write up a proposal and presentation and…oh sorry, wrong business.
haha
