Hi! My name is Melissa I am the co-founder of a men’s line of lifestyle products based around Carbon Fiber. We manufacture all of our own products in San Diego, CA from American sourced raw materials. I am constantly searching for new techniques and happy to share any knowledge I can offer including situations with less than desirable results/outcomes. Whenever I go into a store or anywhere for that matter I am constantly asking myself “I wonder what that would look like in Carbon Fiber?” and more often than not I will try to make a Carbon Fiber version (Carbon Fiber shot glass anyone? :))
My business is growing steadily and for some reason it’s hard to relate composites with my friends unless I explain that Lamborghini and other luxury car brands use Carbon Fiber as a choice materials, then all of a sudden my gold digging girlfriends care (just kidding…Sort of).
As far as experience goes: I am familiar with a few different approaches to molding/infusion, I have tried several different resins with different products, I am knowledgeable in Kickstarter after completing 2 successful campaigns, and I am more than happy to help my fellow composite aficionado in any way possible that I can.
