Need some ideas on gelcoat for carbon

Hello guys

i talked to person who sell composites he say that best way not to play with clear coats and etc simply after last layer of epoxy when parts is wrapped on top carbon simply to brush with papers clean surface then to lay layer or clear gelcoat and simply polish then gonna be hard surface nicely done part also uv protected and epoxy i use is uv protected.

Please advise can i do this i think it is good idea?

Take a look at Durepox HP Clear its a epoxy urethane, hard finish and uv stable. Can be sprayed or rolled and tipped.

How did the Durepox HP Clear its a epoxy urethane work out for you?

Thank you

There are two points that you need to consider, 1st Polyester Gelcoat will not stick to epoxy (even if epoxy sticks to polyester) and 2nd if you apply the topcoat -gelcoat with a brush you will then have to sand flat the surface and then buff & polish
