My entire collection of parts that I made

I had lots of fun making cf parts but now I must give up the hobby for a while to focus on school.

It seems as I was right at the height of my creative abilities pulling off parts that were 100% all the time and working out perfectly. There was lots of experimentation early on and lots of tips and advice from folks on here.

My last and largest endevour never actually came to fruition. It was a cf tank for my motorcycle. I had it about half done and then I started running out of time which I had to devote to prep for school.

so here is a lost of things in more or less chronological order that I made.

Amazing work!! to bad you have to call it quits!

Very nice work

What type of mold did you use to make the 600RR chain guard? I’m actually finishing one up today that did not come out so nice. I made it over the original part, filling the oem part with plaster of paris first.

I laid a few layers of resin over the original stock part to get rid of the matt finish and have a glossy surface. Then I just used that as a plug for making a mold.

Awesome work! Good luck at school. You can always start back up later.

whatchya charge for the lighting plates?? any belly pix of the fuel tank??

I only got as far as making a plug for the bottom but never actually finished the mold from it…

Are you interested in a highbeam cover?

I’m amazed at the quality of the chain guard. I’m miffed my 600rr chain guard came out crappy and I’m fixing it right now.

i need to make a female mold then so i can get good results. This one and one prior we made off the oem part just using it as a male mold.

Ya thanks, I managed to get it to turn out without any bubbles or bridging which was a relief since the shape of it really makes it tough.

very nice stuff, you got talent! how did you do the lettering?

it took a lot of careful cutting! ON some of the earlier ones I made you can see a bit of weave distortion, but after that I got it down pat!

A few things I forgot to add

couple street fighter front fairings before clear coat and trim, and the stator side engine cover for a zx6e kawasaki.

stator covers look primo:) I like that it has kevlar in it so that should help protect the actuall engine cover from road rash to a degree.

awesome stator cover mate.

I have a question for you though…Is that make in a female mold or a male mold (lay over the stator cover)?

Reason i asked is i made covers by laying kevlar/carbon over an engine cover and popped it off the cover but i want to make copies and was thinking of making a mold of the outside of the carbon cover i already have but am worries that the inside dimensions will differ.

once again - that cover is perfect, i cant see 1 imperfection at all. well done

Hey David,

Ya I incorporated kevlar into the stack, even on the ones that look like straight carbon. They all had a few layers of kevlar for that extra little bit of protection.

Thanks, what I did was lay over top the stator cover until I got a size and shape that I was satisfied with. Then I pulled that off and made a female mold of that. I made it a little oversized so that there would be no problems with fitment since using the female mold would result in growth of the part on the inner dimensions. They were affixed to the stator using high temp silicone.
