Hey fam, I have used the mti hose in the past and did one part that drew done vacuum really well, doing another part and cannot get full vacuum. Called the vac pump where I bought it and they asked a few questions after 15min. Still could not get the bag tight on the mold any help would be appreciated…it’s a 4cfm 2 stage vacuum pump…help!!!
Leak in bag…
How big is the part ?
MTI hose is really really slow to draw down to full vacuum, even on small parts. On big parts I’ve had it take up to an hour, and that’s for a 3sqm mould which comparatively speaking isn’t that large. The best thing to do is to draw the bag down using the resin feed line, then swap once it’s there. If you can’t pull full vacuum like this then you’ve got a big leak or your pump isn’t up to it.
Thanks guys I really appreciate it, it was recommended to me by the seller, thought I was getting a decent deal, guess I may have to use the spiral method and see how that goes. Conventional bagging is very frustrating to get it sealed, in a production environment it will take me too long to make 1 part smh. I thought with repetition it would get better or easier, parts are relatively small but with detai, which shouldn’t matter. Well gotta keep at it:wacko:
It does not make a difference to seal the bag, independet if you use MTI or spiral. The bag always has to be tight!
My statement of not making a difference meant the bag will conform to the part, however still must be leak proof. Ty DDCOMPOUND
