most recent project

here are pics of the most recent parts.

Ok, let’s see if this works this time.

awesome work,if i could manage that i would be the happiest person alive :o
im presuming these are infused??

how many layers is your laminate? and what is this for? Also can you possibly take a picture on the middle sections mold? I am interested on how you did your flanges. I am working on a 300C engine cover as my next project.

ok wow, that is so gorgeous my eyes just watered, how in the world did you make that

I just waved my magic wand and told the guys in the shop to get to work!

Just kidding, well actually no I’m not. they are doing 95% of the work now and I oversee it as well as run around trying to boost sales.

Yes GT it is infused
It is three layers and I infused it with Vinyl ester.

This is what it fits on.

Ohhhhhhh ! An AMG Benz cover…your getting too spoiled Doug !Your getting all the fun projects to brag about.lol.I owned a 560 SEC coupe for several years that had AMG wheels, cams and exhaust…such a sweet machine/ride …and then I was broke and it had to go !

I am doing an E-class cover now, hoiw did you get it to mount on? the mounting brackets are underneath on the one i am doing

I left them alone in the room with some soft music and candles and turned down the lights. I am not sure how the mounting actually took place, but I know there was a smell of smoke and a pleasured look in their eyes when I returned.

Just kidding
it is a cover. the original parts are still there. The parts are two way taped to the original parts.

awsome…
Are you using VER that is has a hi temp rating, that will be able to take the engine heat???

also is that V 2 pieces of cf or is it that custom woven fabric?

I am pretty sure it is a fabric, you can get the V shaped stuff at most suppliers

:? I’d have to say thats simply a PRO laying up his work dry with skill and precision !Not a one piece cloth but rather two with oposing weave direction…N…I…C…E !. 8)

I want to thank you guys for all your complimens. I just comleted the interior trim for the mercedes also. it is the E-55 2003.
It was a lot of work, but the picture we took before shipping doesnt do it justice.
There appears to be waves in the surface. Trust me these parts are flawless and are probably some of the best work we have done on ovelrays.

The ver is a pretty descent resin by itself and won’t require a high heat. Unless your engine is in serious trouble, it shouldn’t get above 185-190. and the part doesn’t contact the engine block or any parts that are real hot anyway.
We can honestly say the resin we use has been doing carbon fiber engine covers that are in closer proximity to the heat than this application and have never gotten any complaints.

The v-pattern is not store bought. it is as said above a pro, doing his best work. it takes time to carefully cut the joints and seams. In our SSR and GTO chin spoilers that were displayed at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the two chin spoilers had between 10 and 12 seams in them. We also carried our v-pattern from the front of the vehicle all the way to the back, and matched weave pattern from one panel to the next.

And as far as any satetment about buying a v-pattern right off the roll…L.O.L.

Here is a arm rest from the V shapped off the roll.

what website has that material for sale right off the roll? I have never heard or seen anything coming off the shelf with a v-pattern right in it.
Where would I find pictures of the v-pattern fabric?

Evan talked about knowing where to get it as well. I will try and take pics when I get to the shop

I think it either Emi or Evan that posted a link to CFX in canada doogie (got to be 6 months ago now ).

One of the pics was a bonnet/hood with a read maple leaf but they also had v pattern hoods and carbon v fabric.

(if buying from CFX is a good idea or not im not saying, but im sure atleast 2 brits on here have knowledge of there service)

doh! forgot to say, thats some sweet work.

( i reckon we are going to end up seeing loads of pics of you, next to fit birds)

the company is geminicomposites.com

Beatiful piece I knew it was for a benz :D.
