I preparing for a practice run on a large CF tube - 12" x 28" x approx 0.06" thick. My mold will be a 12" sonotube. I was going to wrap the mold in plastic sheet and then put a thin coating of some wax on the sheet. The goal is for the mold to be reusable.

What is recommended for the mold release wax? Or is it even necessary with plastic sheet? In other words could I simply pull the sheet away easily and dispose of it, or is a mold release advised?

Soller sells two types, an aerosol of Loctite 770-NC Frekote, and also Mirror Glaze rub-on wax. Is there any recommendation for one over the other?

Depending on the finish of the mold you wouldn’t need plastic sheeting. I’d use the mirror glaze rub on wax and then the frekote. Everybody told me to use mirror glaze on all my molds followed by frekote.
