Mold of carbon fiber part?

I want to make a mold off a car part that is made of carbon fiber and resin. I don’t know for certain if it is made with epoxy or poly resin although I know it was made in an autoclave so would it be epoxy? Anyway I want to know the best way to make a mold off this part so that the original part can still be used on the car. It is a cosmetic part so appearance is important.

Thank you.

So you want to copy a part that someone else made?
If it’s an original part made by the company you purchased it from, some here may have issue with duplicating it. Including myself

As for making a mold, there is a large resource of information on this forum for proper release techniques and mold construction if you use the search option. If done properly, the make-up of the original should not be an issue.

I understand what your saying and I don’t want to cause issue with anyone. I don’t know where the part came from as it was on my car when I bought it.
The reason for making a new one is that the original has yellowed. I wanted to keep it just incase my attempt to duplicate failed at least I would still have the yellowed part.
