Modifying my CBR to a Motogp look bike

This project started almost a year ago and took about 6 months to complete (don’t have much free time)

So here is the bike with oem fairings

Making the molds of the oem fairings which I modified them later to get the parts I wanted

Getting the parts out of the molds,

Trimming and Priming

Test fitting before painting

Painting

Buffing & Polishing

Fitting the new race fairings

Almost Done!!! few details more…

The OEM fairings consist of almost 15-17 pieces, the one I built consist of 4 pieces, face and sides, tank cover, belly and tail.

DONE!!! From start to finish!!!

Hope you enjoy it… I did!

Fantastic project and wonderful results! Well done!

P.S.: Have you built a Valentino Rossi mold too? :stuck_out_tongue:

Damn - Wish I had the skills to pull that off…

Would like to see how you did the mounting points.

Looks good even for a Honda…:stuck_out_tongue:

Haha. But at least it’s not the 4 wheel kind. Almost as good as my Duc when it was stock!

Nice work on your 6000RR. Is it a 2004?

This reminds me of a friend’s bike… a highly modified CBR900RR… puts out 154 rwhp.

Thanks!

Yeap it’s a 2004 model.
At the moment I’m in the process of making few carbon fiber accesories

Very cool. I love bikes and riding!

Once I pay off the note on my current bike ( a Kawi vulcan cruiser) I plan on selling it and getting another sport bike. I miss my old 900RR at times.

I have an '08 R6 in pearl white that I never use. Post up when you’re looking.

excellent job! looks great!

R6 sounds nice… can’t afford that new of a bike however. :o

Well done. Very good project.

How did you go about pulling the molds off of the OEM pieces? what prevents the mold material from getting into small areas where the fairings join? I’m trying to remake a set of race fairings for my ZX6R and am always open for advice!

You have to mold the fairings in pieces. And some times one part may need a 2 or 3 piece mold. All the answers you want are within this forum, but you have to try it for your self. Don’t begin with the bikes fairings, begin with something cheaper.
