Mirka Ceros Electric Palm Sander!

Anybody else own one of these?

I tried a demo version for a few days and absolutely loved it. My business partner came back from vacation and tried it as well. He lit up the way I did. Needless to say, we purchased it minutes later haha.

Yes its $500 + $50 for the hose attachment, but its worth every penny.

If anybody here is looking for a seriously reliable, ergonomic, adjustable, electric sander. This is the one to own.

Also, to get the most out of it I recommend a good hepa vacuum.

I sell them. great machines.

They have 3 versions, a 2,5mm travel, 5 and 8mm travel.

I just sold a 5 and 8mm to a guy, who claims that the 8mmm is faster, but with grit 40 it does not have enough power to agressively sand. However to sand from 80 grit upwards it is OK. Still I will investigate if the problem he had is exemplary, or that it is the machine design.

In any case, it is the lightest, most easy to use machine on the market.

For the pneumatic-fanatics among us, they also have a whole range of pneumatic machines.

I own one(5 mm, 150 mm). I like the handeling, small, light machine, low noise.

ditto…Fein and Mirka are our main tools, love the Mirka 1,000 grit wet sanding dics, they have a foam pad backer, acts like an isolater, works great.

You can find then a little cheaper then $499.00

anyone uses the abranet discs? They seem a smart product.
I used the 3M air sanders, with the same appearance, a lot before, but the mirka is more quiet, power is anywhere(opposed to airpressure) and feels more stable.

My Mirka CEROS is hooked up to a Mirka CEROS 915 Dust Extraction/Vacuum Machine its expensive but has payed for itself time and time again. Very happy with it.

The abranet discs work a treat with the Ceros I had several boxes thrown in with mine.

That Vacuum Machine is also around $500 correct?

I really enjoy Mirka’s AutoNet but 400 grit and higher seems like the sand paper dies out real fast.

The 1000 grit sanding discs. Are you speaking of those padded sanding disks? You get a box of 20 pads for about $75 - $85?

If so, those work very well and last longer than any other 1000 sanding paper or disks I’ve ever used.

Side note. IMO 3Ms 1000 grit hook it sanding paper IMO is weak…

Abranet and Autonet are great product. Use the protection interface pads though, or you run through backing pads fast.

The foamy stuff is Abralon. Also great stuff, and long lasting.

Those are the ones, my supplier calls them Mirka wet sanding sponges for some reason, anyways, a box of 100 costs us $99.25 - they have good longevity, we also buy the abranet discs 100 to 1,000 grits at $55.51 for a pack of 50

Not sure if those are good prices or not, but thats what we pay…

Do you know of any 6 inch backing pads? I want to be able to sand rounder parts with the palm sander but I’m uncle to find. 6 inch Velcro foam pad to put between the sand paper and the DA.

You mean an isolator pad, made of a toughened foam sponge that the sanding disc goes on. I can ask my supplier, he has them but I don’t recall how much they are. He will be in on Monday John.

Mirka has them, I believe they are called interface pads.

Thanks guys! I’ll check them out. If I find anything online I’ll post up a link.
