I want to know if anybody here uses anything else besides the standard 3" polisher / buffer to polish small parts or detailed areas. I’m having problems finding mini buffers smaller than 3". Any ideas?
Thanks!

For decades I have been using Dyna-Brade air tools with success. Sometimes I have cut down the rubber backing plates to customize their size.
Most of the time I can get into most molds details with the edge of a 3M double-sided pad, but will reach for the smaller Dyna’s when needed.
never needed to go below 3" for polishing…G/L in the search.
Bodi in florida carries 1" and 2" pads.
Thanks wotldwealth and ro yale! Those were the answers I needed.
I make my own small ones for a dremel tool. I take a 1/8" piece of music wire and glue into the center of dremel 1" diameter felt wheels. They are about 1/4" thick. The 1/8" music wire fits in the chuck of a dremel tool. The felt pad serves as a mounting face. You don’t want the 1/8" shaft to stick all the way out the other side of the center of the felt disk. I CA the shaft into the felt disk. Then I cut 1.25" circles out of foam sponge. I get the thin foam sponges for cheap at the dollar store. I 3M these to the face of the felt pad. This sponge face serves as polishing pad. I make 3 or 4 of them for the different compounds. When the sponge face wears I just tear it off and 3M a new one on. I spin them on the lowest speed of my variable speed Dremel tool.
Make sense?
Almost. Can you post a pic?
I’ve been thinking about getting an ordinary sanding disk and cutting it down to size. I would also have to turn the axle down to fit a Dremel. With that I could use velcro sanding pads.
Great ideas! We’re going to grab some 3"ers and trim them down.
