Metallic resin?

This place has a powdered aluminum “pigment” to give a metallic look, so they say. Anyone ever try this?

I have some Mirrachrome paint and once tried to add it to clear laminating resin just for kicks. I added too much and it looked like crap.

Works reasonably well, and is a technique thats used quite a lot when casting items using resin. Also used when making resin tooling for vac forming, and rubber pad forming.

I’ve seen metalic flake that gets added to resin. Saw it on one of the vendor websites.

Aluminum paste is also used in most silver automotive paint. It can also be added to other colors of auto paint for a custom mix.

So the stuff is more for tooling than cosmetic?

Fastrr, I’ve heard about the flake too. Maybe will try it one day.

Metal powders in various forms are used to make resins appear like the metal in question, and are also used to add strength/durability to various tools made out using resin.
