I just spent 400 total for
Red resin flow…full roll
peel ply …full roll
bagging film …full roll
and I believe my stuff was 100 yard rolls except for the bagging film which is 250 yards.
can u give me a price for each item? also, whats the exact type of material u used? distributor?
thats where im getting them from… i think the distrib. is pulling my leg. AND ARMS!
what up crazy ass? Long time no talk.
hybrid. did u see my comments? i need an exact break down to go back to these guys and talk the price down.
Airtech’s prices are fine. I recommend the Dahlar Releasebag over the Econolon. The Dahlar is cheaper and thicker which is good for infusions. May I also recommend the Econolease over the Econostitch. The Econolease is coated which allows for much easier removal although you do sacrifice a little secondary bonding strength. I have never had any problems though. Here’s a price comparison:
Airtech Online
Release Bag - $1.41/yard
Peel Ply - $3.59/yard
Flow Media - $3.40/yard
Fiberglass Supply
Release Bag - $1.03/yard (Crap. 1 mil thickness. Have to double up to keep from poking through bagging film.)
Peel Ply - $5.10/yard
Flow Media - $3.38/yard
Fiberglast
Release Bag - $5.95/yard
Peel Ply - $12.95/yard
Flow Media - $9.95/yard (Enkafusion)
Airtech’s prices do come down more. The quantities that are available on their website are not “full roll” prices. They are “full roll” in the sense that you are not getting something cut off a bigger roll; however, they are not the standard lengths that Airtech deals in. Airtech’s standard sizes are:
Release Bag - 2000ft
Peel Ply - 300yd
Flow Media - 175ft or 350ft
Yeah I just pay the prices on the stuff that is listed on the economy material list.
The only difference is this time I spent 2 something on a roll of bagging film that is doubled over and rolled so I get twice the amount on the roll for a better price than buying two cut rolls.
Trust me, the tape is what is expensive. The tape is the biggest cost increase to the process.
I figure it costs me approximately 15-20 dollars to make a part I sell for a lot more (in materials)
So Im not complaining.
Just try to buy in as much bulk as you can…it drives your costs way down.
