making moulds and carbon fibre boot

hi i want to make acarbon fibre boot for my car a peugeot 205 ,im using wet lay 2x2 carbon fibre .im looking for any helpful tips about what to make the mould with?whats the best way of laying the carbon ?

Hey Barry,
All that information is already on the forums. Take a quick look around and use the search functions to find what you need!

Wow those are very basic questions, and themselves seem oversimplified here. It’s not so easy!

Learn basic fiberglass layup. Then try making good molds. Then attempt to make small parts with carbon fiber.

FiberglassSite.com has a $1 cd-rom that has the info on how to lay up fiberglass and the different types of fiberglass and resin available.

and like the guys stated… use the search feature to learn how to make fiberglass molds. Once you have your mold made… practice making one or two parts out of gel coat and fiberglass. If the mold is small you can use a paint brush to apply the gel coat… medium size to large molds you need a proper spray gun to apply gel coat. But gel coat isn’t always needed to make a carbon fiber part… but your mold will need to be made partly out of tooling gel coat. Have i confused you yet  lol. It takes many many many hours of research to learn even the basics. But don’t let it deture you
