Making first part with epoxy and carbonfiber.

Im making my first part using epoxy.

It its just the top of a battery box. It has a simple square shape but i am worried about a couple of things.

I think the making of the mold will be okay since i am using fiberglass. But when I am going to make part i am going to use carbon fiber and i and worried about the edges. Is it possible to strech the 2 x 2 twill fabric to make sharp enough edges and cornes? I am worried about the fabric will not make nice looking cornes.

Anyone got any advice?

try it and see,its the best way to learn  dont try the whole thing, just a small piece of cloth over one edge.

Thanks for the quick reply  I will try this

make sure you have apllied several coats of release wax to the fibreglass mold.dont bother with pva,you dont need it.

I got something similar to PVA that i bought from a Norwegian company. Dont know what it is called but it workes

as long as it works for you. It will take some practise and some cordination to get a good weave consistant corner.
