Looking for High Tg epoxy resin

Hello everybody,

I am looking for an epoxy resin with a Tg higher or equal to 180°C.
This is for avionic application and will be used to coat semiconductors.
Today semiconductor is coat with silicon gel and then final encapsulation is done with epoxy resin DELOMONOPOX GE725. (plan is to remove silicon gel if possible !)
Results are fine but the price of this resin is very expensive.
I would like to know if someone could advise me some suitable resin with the following characteristics:

  • Tg > 180°C
  • CTE as low as possible (<25)
  • dielectric constant ~3.5
  • very good adhesion

Thanks a lot for your help :stuck_out_tongue:

I know of high Tg epoxy systems, but electrical properties usually are not known. Electrical encapsulation epoxy, like Huntsman CY220/ CY221 with different hardeners have lower Tg.

First consider if Tg is important. OK, the epoxy softens above Tg, but it does not fall apart. CTE goes up at Tg though. But modulus goes down dramatically as well, helping you out.

For Huntsman epoxy you can contact MC Technics in Vise, Belgium. They are French speaking, and I believe they have the stuff in stock.

Dear, how many you would need?
