Looking for Entry Level Employment - Composite/Carbon Fiber, Layup/Laminator

Hello to all!

I am seeking entry level employment as a Composite Technician, Laminator, Shop Helper, Apprentice, etc. If anybody has a body shop, kit car business, tuner business, kit plane, boat building business, repair or any of the sort and needs an extra hand or an employee, please contact me and we can determine whether I’ll be a good fit.

A little about myself:

I can email a resume, but ultimately-

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology
Composite Technician Certificate is on it’s way
Efficient with computers and hope to pick up Solidworks soon
Entrepreneur and have had success in selling on eBay for 10yrs
Very comfortable working in a small business as well as a large company
Residing in Salt Lake City, UT now - Going to relocate in October (can go almost anywhere)

Ideally, I’m hoping to find employment where a person or company has the potential to increase their profit either by hiring an extra hand, streamlining their processes, being or becoming efficient in online sales and marketing, and simply maintaining or expanding operations. I have a good grasp on layup techniques, resin systems, etc (see link).

I’m not looking for a $1million salary, but simply a place to begin as an entry-level worker. If the fit is proper, I’m confident that my value will, in time, be equivalent to my pay rate. With that being said, I am simply looking for an entry level position while simultaneously looking for a company where I can rise to much more while helping increase the value of that company.

I replied to this yesterday, but it looks like my reply didn’t post.

Is there any reason you are not sticking in the region you are in? I’m north of you and I know that there is a huge industry in the greater SLC area. Between there and the WA/OR area, I’d assume you can surely find something regionally, unless you want to get outta here. Either way, good luck with your hunt!

Oh you replied…just on another website LOL! I don’t mind staying here in SLC as I moved all the way here from NC specifically for this program and the ability to get a job. I was hoping that I could get a job easily, but lots of companies are requiring experience. Also, these job listings apparently come in waves. This is why I have turned to the forums…simply planting seeds! I have another month on my lease here, so maybe something will churn up. Thanks for responding!

LOL, I guess I got the two forums mixed up. I’ve been seeking any sites to network, and I thought most of the people on these were not in the same country as us. I guess I must have found the two common ones.

Best of luck, and if the ability were in my startup, I’d say lets chat, but I’m just not quite there yet. It takes a long time to get a snowball to roll down the hill so to speak.

Last time Space X flew me out in August they were looking for a lot of composite techs. With billions in backlog orders they need to make a lot of rockets fast! They like to see you do composites outside of work, it shows you have a passion for it and will work well without much supervision.

The facility is very nice too, the restaurant for employees in open to the factory over looking the composites room, launch control, and rocket assembly. It’s pretty nice to eat while watching rockets being built with a used Dragon spacecraft hanging from the rafters…

Hey, thanks for the input! SpaceX was one of the first companies that I sent my resume to

I have been getting some replies out of Salt Lake and Seattle and I have my fingers crossed for this one job.
