List of 29-30Hg pumps.

Hey guys, I decided to make a list of pumps capable to pull 29-30Hg
List your pump here, model, brand, price . Where did you buy it.

Robinair 15600 6 CFM

http://www.robinair.com/products/detail.php?id=1061

The price I got it for 5 years ago, you can’t get anymore for a Brand New Pump.

Yellow Jacket
Model 93580
8 cfm

Good pump, pulls 29-30 "Hg and runs for hours without overheating.

It was purchased before I started here but a quick search online says $450 - $900 at Grainger, Amazon, etc.

I use a fridge compressor, virtually silent (can hear leaks by ear with the thing running), Pulls max vacuums (only about 25-26 at this altitude…), doesn’t overheat!!! super low maintenance.

unfortunately has a low cfm so it’s only good for small projects…

Very low $$$!

2 x Wonchang WOVP-130
38CFM
>99.5% vacuum
3hp
Costs over $NZ3000 (but insureance paid)
Got it from VABS aka Vacmoble.

Gast model SAA-V109-NQ 29" or so $565
Kine Equipment INC
3cfm - dual piston.

are oilless pumps loud, like a compressor?

central sjop pump, Kaiser ASV40- 99% vacuum, ~16,000 USD

I have been using these pumps for years now, they are the most reliable units I have ever used over my 45 yrs. plus of boat building, I must say here though it is only the last 15yrs. that I have ventured into the unknown area of Vacuum Bagging and Infusion compared to the 100ft. plus Aluminium and Steel construction that is my trade.

Vacmobile made my transition to this medium very easy because I did not have to improvise by converting Refrigerator Pumps etc. to achieve a successful Vac. or Infusion job to suit 50ft plus hulls and decks.

Not as loud, but not quiet.

I made a quick vid of my setup. It’s an old 4 gallon stack air tank plumbed to my resin trap which is probably another gallon. It’s a bad ass little pump.

HeyBen,

Nice video, and nice setup… that pump pulls pretty hard for the price!

I have a couple Gast dual piston pumps that pull equal to yours… but I had to put them in a series working together to get the CFM, I think I paid about $360 for the two of them (matching), should have just bought a couple bullets and called it good.

Well, I guess that will be my next equipment purchase, I’ll just run it in with my current system.

That was a craigslist score. I got it for 150 and the gent had used it for one day in school, then got a job where he didn’t need it.

I was leaning towards the Harbor Freight pumps just because of my budget. I originally planned on running a ghetto setup with my compressor, A/C venturi vacuum and guages into a bag/breather style resin trap. I have pulled to 28-29" with it before.

Lack of air is lack of air. It’s not really a vacuum anyways, it’s just lower than atmospheric pressure…for the semantically objective.

I like the Yellow Jacket because it’s made in the USA, it has a 24 month warranty if purchased new, and the exhaust port is threaded for a water hose for venting. I plan to cut up a hose and vent to a catch pot for the oil vapor.
