Layup idea

I’m not sure if it will work but wanted to hear your thoughts. Lets say I wanted to cover a very off shaped part. It’s just for looks. using 3m adhesive tack down the cloth. Then wetout the cloth and cover with Mylar.

mmm,I dont like to use 3m adhesive under the cloth, uness it be a black color. Maybe is it better to do some small test trial before using the final part.

Funny enough I found some 3m spray at work. Grabbed a redbull can and put the end in a vice. It worked so far. Ill see what happens when it’s cured

It worked just fine. I jyst slapped this on and my plastic had a bunch of creases and using a squeeze on a can… You guys get the point.

mylar might not conform to anything but a simple bend. Plus you might trap airbbbles in between the part and the mylar if you aren’t careful…but for something simple, it should work and give a ncie finish

Just wondering - why would you put the Mylar on top? Just to protect the finish, does it give UV resistance or something? Are you actually trying to skin the part or just make a shell replica in carbon?
