Kevlar felt

I finally got a delivery of kevlar today (ebay purchase).
Thought I was getting cloth, but it turns out it was Kevlar felt.
It’s not worth sending back as the postage and hassles etc outweigh what I paid.

Question is, what do I do with it?
What is it normally used for?
Only thing I can think of is to ‘bulk up’ a laminate.
But using CF + Kevlar and then adding heaps of extra resin doesnt seem right.

Any ideas?

I’d hunt the SOB down.
I can’t think of what you can do with kevlar felt, if it IS even kevlar. Since the point of the fabric is to be strong, and transfer the energy to surrounding fibers, which if you just have fuzz, the fibers are not really doing anything.

Unfortunately for me, he’s in the US and I’m in Australia!
And the government says NO HUNTING! over here.

Yeah, but I got expensive fuzz.
Anyone got plans for kevlar socks?

Why did you order it from the states it pretty easily availible over here?

Thats sucky…sorry to hear that man.

You could make one strong sub woofer enclosure with that stuff.

That really does suck though.

I didnt order it.
It was supposed to be plain weave 60" wide (x 20 yards!) 200 GSM Kevlar cloth.

Im going to email him and find out what happened. But realistically, I think Im just stuck with it.

Luckily I bought some more from someone else, so all is not lost.
Sucks 'cause its only 38" not 60".

sigh :frowning:

if you paid with paypal, you can make a claim against the seller. Ebay also has some basic buyer protection also. You can also try a chargeback with your credit card company.

Good thinking!
I hope it doesnt come to that though. I’ll try to sort it out amicabley but that could be a good thing to remind him of.

Cheers.
