Hey guys, just curious how’d you go about connecting these, and make the bonding area as neat as possible. There will be a bit of pressure in this sealed application, like from a mounted speaker.
Imagine you have a flat plate and a bowl. The underside of the plate is carbon fiber(aesthetic only). The top side of the plate is wood that is resin bonded to the back of the carbon fiber. The wood could be any kind - even MDF if that would be best for absorbency. The bowl is made of fiberglass and will sit upside down on the wood part of the plate. The plate is bigger than the bowl, so the bowl only takes up about 50% of the surface area of the plate.
I’ve just been using 2" strips of fiberglass cloth layed across the seam, then body filler, sanding, and spray paint, but that just what I came up with in my head. How would you guys do this?
