jgreer.com epoxy resin

I bought some Epoxy resin off of ebay and have very good results with it. It is very flexible in full cure. It was $68 for a gallon and a half kit. It infused well!

Anyone else tried this epoxy yet? I have been making flat sheets with it. Any west systems harnder will work with it and you can thin is will acetone

I’ve used it before with great success!!

Dual Twill, Just went to your web site, really nice parts.
Are they all epoxy with gelcoat clear in the molds first, or are they Vinylester with clear?
When I infuse parts I get a flat (pre-preg) look to the fibers opposed to wet hand lamination the fibers aren’t held down with pressure so they have more of an encapsulated look like the urethane dash stick on parts.
This is normal right?
I’m new to this forum stuff so as soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will.

most of our parts are a poly gel coat with a VER resin, If the part is all carbon then we use epoxies. What are you using as a surface or are you just infusing carbon right to the mold? I can lay my gel coat a little heavy and it give it a nice deep look, or you can have it clear coated for a more deep look. If you are using no surface coat then yeah that is pretty normal.

I put use metalflake clear and duratec 50/50.
I have trouble spraying this it seems to get fisheyes.
If I put mor MF vs duratec it doesn’t fisheye as much.

I use VER resin also (100HF Reichold).
I still get the flat look no matter if I use gel or not.
I don’t mind the look but when trying to match the urethane dash kits it is hard to get the same encapsulated look versus the flatter look.
I have found a great epoxy also CPD/Epoxical.
It is expensive $70 gal, and sold in 5 gallon kits or larger.
It is clear as water and has an HTD of 300F and infuses very fast.
I just finished the 05 mustang radiator cover and electrical box cover.
Can you guide me on how to post the pictures?

your right, they are flattened a little due to the pressure. www.njsr.org has free picture uploading
