I wish I had a sledgehammer.
Yes, that is a weft kreel of “let’s see what works”…cotton, polyester, carbon with PA12 overwrap, vectran, glass coated in PA6 and kevlar.

Looks like a half decent effort!! Are you going to keep trying until you get it perfect?
What machine is that doing the weaving?
Trying to figure out how to get the bloody thing (CCI Tech Studio and Mini-Warper (not shown)) to work well. As you can see, some sections are good, but others are missing, or have double weft insertions from either the weft not cutting, and pulling 2x the amount through, or for th emissing ones…not sure. Randomly I would see the weft UNDER the fabric, not in the weave.
but yeah, trying to get it perfect. Slowly. After that, we are going to start making specific glass/carbon/etc patterns to act as an RF functional material.
The properly woven sections look really good. You’d think that once the fabric is being woven perfectly that it would continue to be perfect until you stop. It’s going to be really satisfying when you get it dialled!
How many times have you woven your own fabric? You say you want to use the fabric you make as an ‘RF functional material’ - what is RF?
I’ve made a few runs, mostly of glass, and various wefts…just to see what materialsd works. Carbon is REALLLLY hard to grip and pull, without it breaking. Kind of weird seeing how strong CF is supposed to be!
RF: Radio frequency.
