Can you hurt your parts by baking them too long to cure them?
im using a heat blanket set to 110 and bakining my parts for 8-12 hours…too long?
Im using ambient temp MAS infuresin, not supposed to have to bake it but it wont cure unless I do.
Over time is not too bad, over temp is quite bad.
We will often run a cook much longer than spec’d to make sure the part is heated through, especially if it’s on a thick mould.
As long as the temp is staying around recommended temps, you should be fine. If your part needs to be certified, then testing is needed for a long cure/postcure. After all, when curing at a high temp, the crosslinking is completed after a determined amount of time. Anything longer will just waste time and energy, but the properties shouldn’t change at all.
Thanks that makes sense just needed to know no harm will come to the parts.
