Infusion Vacuum Line

I’ve been having a little problem with my vacuum line not pulling enough vacuum inside the mold. I am getting 29hg inside the vacuum /resin pot then once the bag pulls down on the vac line it collapses the line some.

How are you guys who are vacuum bagging or infusing hooking up the vac line to the bag/mold?

I insert the bare vinyl 1/4" i.d. hose into the bag after it is wrapped in two layers of breather fabric. I’ve been thinking about switching to polyetheline hose because it’s much more rigid. But my i’m wondering if the breather and the bag will still suck down too tightly around the hose end and cut off vacuum some.

I use helical hose inside the bag

try cutting the hose at an angle instead of at 90 degrees to the length of the hose, and put some extra wedge cuts into it. and make sure that the hose is placed over some reinforcement so that it can pull vacuum through it and not be blocked off

Switch to 3/8" or 1/2" line. What you are using is tiny.
