infusion question 4 the experienced

wheather has turned hot resin set up before totaly infused has any body tried adding resin feed to finish off the part anny suggestions see pic belowe

you can re-infuse the part that did not infuse. You can use the cureed laminate as sort of a flange and put your tape on top of that and that will stop the resin from traveling cause it is already cured. How long did it take to infuse that? Even my big stuff like those fenders fully infuse in about 3 minutes

it only took about 5 min but i am only pulling 7in vacum that is all i can get from a shop vac so you mean un wrap and re bag sealing to the part and mold cause i am sure i probably cant get a t in the existing bag and get it sealed

what is that white material in the bag?
is that breather?
I have never seen it in vacuum infusion. I guess you are doing better than I am problems. I have never been able to infuse any larger parts in 3 minutes. It took me half an hour to infues my hoods.

insted of using breather i had cut the glass extra long i probably went way over board on this one
the moldis in side a bag

We have had limited good results with going back into a cured part to reinfuse the area. however we have also added a needle into the bag to allow new resin into the area when the flow stopped. we just place a tube into the cup and on the other end we put a hypodermicneedle onto the end of the tube and inseert the needle into the bag through a piece of butyl.

awesome idea i will definatly keep that in mind just curious how long have you been infusing?
