Im making my own infusion setup and im wondering about one thing. The lines that have to deal with resin, are these anything special? Are they disposable? Do I clean them out with acetone after, to reuse? Whats the ideal thickness of the tubing? …just some general info on these resin lines would be good. Cheers -Ben
i just use normal tubing I get from lowes. I cant remeber the size I use off the top of my head. I think it is 1/4 od. It is natural color hdpe tubing
thanks for the reply rookie, do you buy new lines every time? Or clean them out?
Also whats the process after infusion, excess resin, reservoir tanks etc. How do I make sure everything stays clean?
the tubes yes i do throw them out after every use. I pay like 40 bucks for a 300ft roll. I wax my pressure on the inside so I can just pop out any resin that gets into the pot. the only time I ever get any resin in the pressure pot is if I have a leak that I can not find, any other time I clamp off the vaccum line as well and turn off the pump.
…or put a paper catch cup in the tank to save any clean out too.
ok, i get it now, thanks for all the info.
we use HDPE lines, and toss them if they are clogged (obviously on the inlet side!)
we also use bucket liners on the vacuum bucket. Those i would think you can reuse until it fills up!
yeah a disposable catching container is a good idea, ill def use that.
