Infusing fiberglass house insulation

Hi guys,
Is it possible to infuse house insulation? Like if you just peeled a 1" sheet off, Layed it into the mold, Layed the cloth, vac it down, and pull resin?
So you know, I use UV cure vinylester, so slow infusion isn’t a problem. Can take as long as it needs and won’t set until I tell it to.
Crazy I know… just an idea…
Thanks

What is house insulation? Over here EPS, wool, glasswool, rockwool, PU foam, XPS, all being used.

Fiberglass house insulation, like the pink insulation that makes you itch. Not rock wool, or blown lint, or shredded paper. Owens Corning makes the pink, and uses the cartoon character “Pink Panther” as it’s spokesman.
Fiberglass insulation. Fluffy, looks like cotton, but don’t curl up for a nap in it!

Other than an emergency replacement for a breather , it won’t make a durable composite matrix by itself . Infusing with a UV cure resin and then skimping on core materials seems like an odd pairing .

Yes it will work , what you can do with the end result will be limited though .

Thanks HCD. Pretty much figured that. Have 14 “deep spots” in this mold and getting cloth to lay in reliably is a pain. Trying to figure a way to fill those lows… Don’t want to use 77 but can see that’s where it’s going.

I would not use pink fiberglass insulation. Glass fibers made for use in composites are coated with a sizing chemical, typically silane based, that helps the resin stick to the glass fibers. I would definitely use Super 77 over pink insulation. As an alternative you can use fill in with chopped fiber or the pultrusion industry uses “bulky roving” to fill voids.
