Ideas for my CF hood

Hi all, long time lurker here! Great forum, learning a lot here on a daily bases. I need your opinion on this because i have mixed feelings…

  1. I love the panda ‘‘look’’ but this style is fading out, it looks great and has that ‘‘im coming to get you’’ look but it is not ‘‘clean’’.
  2. I want to paint it all, including the vents but i might regret it and wont be able to bring the CF look back.
  3. Paint it, leave the vents exposed in CF.
  4. Paint it all and keep only the center naca duct exposed.
  5. Leave it as is.

Please post If you have a different idea. Thanks!

Having seen a LOT of cf hoods I would have to say you should leave at least some of the vents unpainted. The best thing to do is get on photoshop or gimp and have someone play around with the different ideas so you can see what it looks like. Also, you can go back to plain cf if you decide to do it. It will be quite a bit of sanding and buffing though.

Thats great, thanks. I didn’t know i could go back to CF after painting it. Will it look the same after buffing and sanding then clearcoating?

As long as you don’t sand trough the weave pattern, you could get it back to the original state. Maybe even better, depending on what you start with :wink:
