ideas for material & resin options for superbike race fairings

I am making fairings for a superbike. I bought the best quality fairings i could find to make a mould from (the ones on the bike are scrap) and they were made of paper thing glass mat. they fitted well but are complete rubbish. and over £500!! thats about $850!!!

When i make mine what should i make them from? I was going to lay C/S followed by a hybrid fabric of carbon kevlar diolen fiberglass. its 250g. I have never used it before so just waiting on a bit to test. there is also a kevlar polyester fabric to test. I also have 220g carbon kevlar 2/2 twill.

So the question is what would you use? Also resin? I can get cheap epoxy but i normally use pollyester stuff.

I will be selling the fairings so quality is very important, as is cost…

They have to be light but take a serious knock. They have to protect the bike when it goes down the road.

If you have a company currently under 50 employees I can guide you through this in person for free under a current govt programme; im in Belfast here. cant seem to send you a pm for some reason

Thanks for the offer but we have the skills to do everything in house. Just thought it would be worth asking the forum about their views in materials and resins. We are new to this site so thought we should test the water. We may have another project in the pipe line that will require external support. We will keep you in mind. Perhaps you could expand in your area of expertise? We have had an offer from axis regarding the innovation vouchers in the past. We may be looking at building a basic autoclave at some point. That is an area that we don’t have skills in, yet.
