I keep spinning around like crazy!

test pieces…all of them.
Different ways of wrapping (compression tape, shrink tape (wrapped straight, or spiral), different layups (90/0, 90/0/45), different fabrics (plain, Uni. vertical, uni horz, uni ±45, plain with uni)
oh, and 2 SV650 1st generation heel guards…

I think they need to give me more work…
most of that and other junk is my monitor sculpture.
Yeha, I’m a geek.

That’s cool!
How about a tube with a flange, like used in rollbar/cage mounting points? Can something like that be made?

sure it just wouldnt be very structural.

Riff… you like that Dunstone hi-temp shrink wrapping after practicing with it?

When I get the time, I’ll be adding to the PPV section using it with CF PP and oven curing.

I know, not as a rollcage or anything, but for brackets or less critical applications I think it would look kewl:)

Hmm.
Like a flare on the end, or like a threadon-boltdown kind of flange.
Might be possible given the right tool, but our machine shop is VERY picky on the work they do.
I’m sure one can get a flared flange tool, lay up on that, and then fit it ON a tube, maybe do some secondary bond work with more CF.

Outta my league though…I’m kinnda bored with what I have access to. I scrounge the scrap bin looking for something different all the time!

Oh, I love the wide stuff. Makes it so much faster to wrap a tube. I have issues with getting it even though, and not fold in on itself due to uneven test pieces…
but…I heart.
