So here it is. Not exaclty an infused part, and will never look like one but I must admit I think it really does the part of a cosmetic purpose… and I kinda had fun doing it aswell:) It’s a cover piece for a Suzuki M50 cruiser, it goes around the steering stem.

Where did you get the instruction from to do the overlay?
I ahve never overlayed any parts before, but Im gonna make my first attempt real soon. I’d like to do as much reading as possible before i get in too deep

this was the first overlay I ever did, but I have a lot of practice working with glass and wet laying molds etc…
What I did was lay down a layer of resin on the part let it gel, and then layed the carobn on. this allowed me to have the carobn stick to the part and all the curves without worrying about it popping up and out of shape on some of the more curve bits. Then I let it cure a little longer and finally went over it all very carefully with resin wetting out the carbon being very careful not to get bubbles.
